陳美合

陳美合博士是一位兼具理論與實務的傑出學者和藝術家。

她於朝陽科技大學傳播藝術系已任教23 年,主要教授科目為美學及影視美術設計,在學術界和藝術領域均有卓越的貢獻。
陳博士在取得臺灣大學外文系學士學位後,於國父紀念館擔任中山畫廊外文導覽員,工作一年後於1991 年前往法國進修12 年。1995 年取得法國凡爾賽藝術學院Ecole des Beaux-Art de Versaille 高階段教育造型藝術文憑,主修繪畫,成績特優並獲得考試評審委員會祝賀獎。1996 年於巴黎索爾邦UNIVERSITE DE LASORBONNE NOUVELLE 第三大學取得ＤＥLＥ法國文化文憑。完整接受法國大學學制三個階段教育文憑,分別獲得笛卡爾UNIVERSITE RENE DESCARTES 第五大學學士、碩士及聖德尼UNIVERSITE VINCENNES- SAINT-DENIS 第八大學博士候選人資格文憑。於2003 年以非常優異的成績取得博士學位,論文主題為"Research on New Forms and Structures in the Field of Restoration and the Creation of
Artwork "。

她以文化傳承與創新的觀點,探究藝術創作與修復領域中可能發展的新形式與架構,並以壁畫創作為例探討藝術創作與修復。擁有豐富的國際學術背景。陳博士的研究方向深受聯合國教科文組織(UNESCO)的保護文化和自然遺產公約影響。她注重文化遺產的真實性與不朽性,比較東西方延展文化遺產生命力的方式,如西方將繪畫作品轉為馬賽克鑲嵌藝術,
而中國則以緙絲技藝複製古代書畫。2012-2014 年, 她擔任InternationalSymposium/Workshop on Natural Dyes 國際天然染織大會計畫主持人,致力於創作、傳承與保護自然遺產和有形無形文化遺產。

在實務創作方面,陳博士曾取得法國羅浮宮古畫臨摹許可證。她的公共藝術作品包括台中烏日東女慈聖宮媽祖廟壁畫及朝陽科大景觀牆馬賽克鑲嵌藝術。她的染織藝術作品更獲美國紐約全球漢服回歸設計大獎,並在總統府展出。目前,陳博士正研究台灣彩墨藝術,以自然、環保和淨零碳排為創作主題,持續推動台法文化藝術交流。

Dr. Meiho CHEN's presentation
Dr. Meiho Chen is an outstanding scholar and artist who seamlessly blends theory and practice. For 23 years, she has taught courses on aesthetics and film/TV art design in the Department of Communication Arts at Chaoyang University of Technology, making remarkable contributions to both academia and the artistic realm.
After obtaining her bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages from National Taiwan University, Dr. Chen worked as an English docent at the Sun Yat-sen Gallery of the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. In 1991, she went to France for 12 years of advanced studies. In 1995, she received the Advanced Diploma in Visual Arts from the prestigious Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Versailles, majoring in painting and earning top honors along with a congratulatory award from the examination board. The following year, she obtained the DELE French Cultural Diploma from the Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle. Dr. Chen completed all three levels of the French university system, receiving bachelor's and master's degrees from the Université René Descartes and doctoral candidacy from the Université Vincennes-Saint-Denis. In 2003, she brilliantly earned her doctoral degree with a dissertation titled "Research on New Forms and Structures in the Field of Restoration and the Creation of Artwork," exploring innovative forms and frameworks in art creation and restoration from a cultural inheritance perspective, using mural painting as a case study.

With her extensive international academic background, Dr. Chen's research is deeply influenced by UNESCO's convention on protecting cultural and natural heritage. She emphasizes the authenticity and immortality of cultural legacies, comparing Eastern and Western approaches to sustaining them, such as Western mosaic transposition of paintings versus Chinese silk tapestry copying of ancient calligraphy and paintings. From 2012- 2014, she led the International Symposium/Workshop on Natural Dyes, dedicated to creating, inheriting, and protecting natural and tangible/intangible cultural heritage. In practice, Dr. Chen has obtained permission to copy ancient paintings at the Louvre Museum in France. Her public artworks include the Matsu Temple mural in Wuri, Taichung and the mosaic wall at Chaoyang University of Technology. Her textile art has won the Global Han Couture Design Award in New York and been exhibited at the Presidential Office Building. Currently, Dr. Chen is researching Taiwanese ink-wash painting focused on nature, environmentalism, and net-zero emissions, while continuing to promote cultural and artistic exchanges between Taiwan and France.
